Greccio Celebration 2026

The FFMR Region will celebrate the appearance of Our Lord at the town of Greccio on Saturday, January 10, 2026. We will start with noon Mass at the Basilica of Mary, Queen of the Universe, 8300 Vineland Ave., Orlando, FL 32821. After Mass we will gather for a light lunch and a presentation about Greccio. We then conclude the day with a procession to the Greccio chapel, where lifesized statues of the Nativity scene are present.

THE WHOLE FRANCISCAN FAMILY CELEBRATES THE FRANCISCAN CENTENARY

The Ministers General of the Franciscan Family invite us to commemorate the Franciscan Centenary which was announced on November 29, 2021, at the Sanctuary of Greccio. From 2023 through 2026 we will remember the stages of the 800th anniversaries of the Rule, the Christmas of Greccio (2023), the Stigmata (2024), the Canticle of Creatures (2025), and the Easter of Francis (2026). This will be the opportunity to revive our common Franciscan identity.
